Lita, born Amy Christine Dumas, is an American professional wrestler, musician, and former WWE Diva with a net worth of $4 million. Widely regarded as one of the greatest female wrestlers in WWE history, she is a four-time Women’s Champion who left a lasting impact on the industry. Beyond wrestling, she formed a punk rock band, The Luchagors, and has pursued various ventures in music, writing, and media.

Early Life

Amy Dumas was born on April 14, 1975, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She had a transient childhood, attending multiple schools before graduating from Lassiter High School near Atlanta, Georgia. She initially pursued higher education, majoring in Education at Georgia State University, but dropped out, feeling disenchanted with the academic environment. In her early years, she played bass guitar in several bands and worked as a roadie for five years. During this time, she also took up judo classes, which eventually led her to explore a career in wrestling.

Wrestling Career

Lita began her wrestling journey in Mexico under the name Angelica, training and competing with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in 1998. She later wrestled on the U.S. independent circuit and briefly appeared in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Her big break came in August 1999 when she signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE).

Lita became a four-time Women’s Champion during her WWE tenure, particularly shining as a heel manager for Edge in the mid-2000s.

After retiring from full-time wrestling in 2006, Lita made occasional independent circuit appearances and returned to WWE in 2007. From 2022 to 2023, she wrestled part-time, notably winning the Women’s Tag Team Championship with Becky Lynch, becoming the first female Hall of Famer to capture a title post-induction. Lita was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 and has also contributed to the company as a producer and trainer.

Other Ventures

Outside the ring, Lita has explored several creative avenues. In 2003, she co-authored her autobiography, Lita: A Less Traveled R.O.A.D. – The Reality of Amy Dumas, which became a New York Times bestseller. Following her initial wrestling retirement, she formed The Luchagors, a punk rock band that released a self-titled album in 2007.

Lita has also appeared on various television programs, including Dark Angel, Fear Factor, and The Weakest Link’s WWF Superstars Edition. She hosted the radio show Amy’s Discordia in 2013 and later hosted The UFO Sho in 2018 and KAYfABE in 2020. In 2023, she co-hosted WWE’s reality series Most Wanted Treasures.

Personal Life

Lita’s personal life has been marked by high-profile relationships and deep friendships. She dated fellow wrestler Matt Hardy in the early 2000s but was involved in a controversial affair with Adam Copeland (Edge) in 2005. Later, she dated musician Shane Morton and wrestler CM Punk at different periods. Lita remains close friends with Trish Stratus, her longtime WWE rival, and is the godmother to Stratus’s son, Maximus.

In 2009, Lita purchased property in Nicaragua, where she enjoys surfing and splitting her time between her home there and her residence in Atlanta, Georgia.
