In an interview on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast, Hornswoggle, the beloved WWE Superstar, shared his humble beginnings in the company. He revealed that he was initially brought in by WWE to talk and was asked to do an Irish accent for his first promo alongside Finlay. However, Hornswoggle confessed that he couldn’t do an accent, couldn’t talk well, and was worried that he had blown his chance at stardom.

“I cannot do Irish. I cannot do any accent. I can hardly speak period. I asked Fit, ‘How do you think that went?’ And he went, ‘Not very good,'” Hornswoggle recalled.

Despite his initial woes, Hornswoggle received a call two weeks later informing him that he had been hired by WWE. He was subsequently tasked with speaking minimally, and that’s why he spent four years living under the ring.

Hornswoggle’s career trajectory changed dramatically when he became a fan favorite due to his size and antics in the ring. He was often teamed up with Finlay, and together, they formed a memorable duo. Hornswoggle also worked with TNA Wrestling after leaving WWE.

It’s interesting to note that Hornswoggle’s early struggles in the ring were a far cry from his eventual rise to fame. He was exposed as the Anonymous RAW General Manager who controlled the brand from June 21, 2010, to July 18, 2011, and even became the illegitimate son of former WWE CEO Vince McMahon in kayfabe.

As Hornswoggle’s career progressed, he continued to charm fans with his unique persona. Although he faced humble beginnings, he eventually became a big deal in the company. His journey serves as a testament to perseverance and the importance of adapting to new situations.

The future of WWE looks promising, and the upcoming Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 Premium Live Event is expected to be an exhilarating experience for fans. The card boasts an impressive lineup of matches, including the Men’s WarGames Match featuring Roman Reigns and CM Punk on the same side. Other highlights include Bianca Belair’s women’s WarGames Match and Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship defense against Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser.

As fans look forward to this event, they’ll likely remember Hornswoggle’s humbling beginnings as a WWE Superstar. His story serves as a reminder that success is often built on perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to put in the effort to improve.
