With Survivor Series: WarGames now in the books, attention shifts to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, which will simultaneously air on NBC and Peacock. This special event marks the last major wrestling spectacular before RAW’s massive debut on Netflix on January 6, 2025. As a result, bookers are likely to save some big matches and moments for that debut. Nevertheless, they must create a well-balanced card with charming matches to sell Saturday Night’s Main Event as a must-see show. The event will feature a Women’s United States title tournament final and a match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens, which will close the show.

One of the possible matches is a Women’s Intercontinental Championship semi-final bout. The Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament will kick off on RAW immediately following Survivor Series: WarGames, and it seems logical to feature a representative match on Saturday Night’s Main Event. This spotlights the newly created title and provides a nice balance to the event.

The Motor City Machine Guns, the current WWE Tag Team champions, might defend their title in a Triple Threat match against DIY and The Street Profits. Both teams have had multiple title shots in 2024 and are eager to get their hands on the coveted belts. The Street Profits will have a specific vendetta against The Motor City Machine Guns, as Tommaso Ciampa interfered in their match, leading to a heated altercation between the two teams.

Shinsuke Nakamura, who recently won the United States title, might defend his title against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Nakamura’s surprise return and new character development led to his third US Championship win, and Knight is likely seeking a rematch after falling victim to Nakamura’s mind games. If Knight needs to win another bout before getting his shot, that could happen on an episode of SmackDown before December 14.

IYO SKY, who won a #1 Contendership Battle Royal a few weeks ago, deserves her shot at Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship. WWE should finally book this match, as it has been lingering since then. A win for SKY would allow the company to move forward with the title picture, potentially setting up a defense for Morgan against Rhea Ripley on the debut episode of RAW on Netflix. This match would be an excellent way to pop the ratings, as Ripley also pinned Morgan to win WarGames for her team.
