WWE referee Corey Graves pointed out on commentary that Damian Priest’s devastating loss to Gunther at WWE Survivor Series was compounded by his own injury during the match. As Priest fell to the ringside area earlier in the contest, he repeatedly told the referee “It’s out,” suggesting that his shoulder was out of its socket. The Archer of Infamy further reiterated his message, as Corey Graves also stated that Priest was speaking about his shoulder being out of its socket.

Priest’s injury occurred when Gunther hooked his hand on the rope and Damian fell, resulting in significant pain and discomfort. The star was unable to recover from the setback and was ultimately no match for Gunther’s superior strength, allowing The Ring General to gain the upper hand and secure the win. Gunther’s victory, however, was overshadowed by the controversial interference from Finn Balor, who once again thwarted Priest’s chance to regain the World title.

Balor’s presence was a recurring theme in the lead-up to Survivor Series, as Priest had been seeking a rematch against Gunther. With Balor and his faction, Judgment Day, absent from the match, Priest appeared poised for a better opportunity to get the win. However, Gunther’s surprise attack on Priest, followed by Balor’s arrival, ultimately proved to be too much for the Archer of Infamy.

Gunther’s desire for a clean victory was evident as he hit Balor and took him out as well, seemingly dissatisfied with the recent developments. The Ring General had been struggling with confidence in his WWE performances, and this win came with an asterisk due to Balor’s involvement. Gunther’s victory, while crucial, may not have provided the validation he was seeking.

Priest, on the other hand, suffered a crushing loss, both in terms of the match itself and the personal toll of his injury. The Warrior’s injuries have been a recurring narrative throughout his WWE career, and this setback may further complicate his path to regaining the title. With Balor’s ongoing interference, it remains to be seen whether Priest will be able to overcome his obstacles and regain his footing in the WWE.
